All our garments are designed thoughtfully and made carefully here in east London using sustainable surplus fabric and buttons of the highest quality. We do small runs of each fabric to add to each garment it’s uniqueness and offer life time free repairs as we believe that our garments are made to last for many years if continued to be given the TLC it deserves.
Our Designs are inspired by traditional Sufi clothing that were made simple and suitable for an active life style as well as being modest and down to earth.We only use 100% natural fibre fabrics of cotton, Irish linen or wool.
We also make bespoke garments for customers that want a specific colour/fabric or if they wanted to supply us with a fabric, in the design they like. We believe clothing is similar to eating. They both have a spiritual effects on us. So, we should have close personal relationships with the ones cooking our food and making our garments. The first attempt was a drop-crotch shalwar. It didn't catch on. The real design came later, after Redwan met a gardener at the local Mosque wearing a pair of trousers he'd owned for thirty years, bought at a car-boot sale and never replaced. Redwan asked if he could copy them. The gardener agreed, on the condition Redwan make him a couple of new pairs in return. A neighbour, a pattern cutter, took six months to draft it. From there, our tailor Kamali took over in his workshop in Bow, and has been making it ever since. Roomi Apparel, Trousers, Womens TrousersA loose, wide-leg trouser with a high, pleated waist. The front pleats double as belt loops, a small detail that took a lot of fitting to get right. Two side pockets and one back pocket. Made in heavy-weight denim, a durable and breathable cotton twill, woven tightly and densely for extra strength and structure, that's easy to care for and softens with wear.Redwan wanted one trouser the shop could remake over and over: comfortable, modest, roomy enough to move in. The first attempt was a drop-crotch shalwar. It didn't catch on. The real design came later, after Redwan met a gardener at the local Mosque wearing a pair of trousers he'd owned for thirty years, bought at a car-boot sale and never replaced. Redwan asked if he could copy them. The gardener agreed, on the condition Redwan make him a couple of new pairs in return. A neighbour, a pattern cutter, took six months to draft it. From there, our tailor Kamali took over in his workshop in Bow, and has been making it ever since. We've made close to a thousand pairs in this cut.Cotton is a durable, natural, breathable fibre that holds up well to everyday wear. It's low-maintenance, doesn't need special handling, and gets softer the more it's washed.
