Week after week I’d sit opposite her, quietly admiring her warm, cosy feet while mine were freezing. Louisa has impeccable taste and this was yet another example of it. Her slippers always looked soft, natural and properly warm, without that stiff synthetic look so many slippers have.I eventually asked her about them and when she told me they were made in Scotland, that was it. Beautiful materials, proper provenance, thoughtful craft and a style that doesn’t make you feel like you’ve given up on life.
