Kilim, a word of Turkish origin, denotes a pileless textile of many uses produced by one of several flatweaving techniques that have a common or closely related heritage and are practiced in the geographical area that includes parts of Turkey (Anatolia and Thrace), North Africa, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central Asia and China.
Kilim weawing was (and still is) a strenuous and laborious work, so it's often seen like a writing, a story and a diary of the person who made it. For centuries, women have been weaving their pain, joy, messages and symbols into the rugs.

This is a brilliant handwoven piece made in eastern Turkey from super soft mohair goat hair.
Creamy off-white with a pair of brown stripes on each side.
Originally made to be put as a layer on the back of a horse or donkey.
Would make a lovely wall hanging or can be just laid on the floor right next to your bed to bring a warm cosy feel under your feet.
Whereas goat hair is rougher that wool, angora goat hair, "mohair", is much softer and gives a silky sheen when mixed with wool. Mohair is also used to make the lustrous "filikli tulu" with its shining locks of hair.
