Explore Lavenham
Uks best preserved medieval village with the most dense amount of tudor framed houses packed in one area.
you can walk to Lavenham through a beautiful woodland walk which takes about 45 minutes
Pick your own fruit
There are a few pick your own fruit farms in the area. Fruit never tastes as good as when you pick your own.
One of our favourites is
Coxs@Spencer’s Farm Shop
It’s a 25 minute drive away and conveniently situated on route on your way back to London. So you can brake up the journey a bit and get to make fresh jam with your picks when you get home.
The Pick your own farm is a seasonal event only available from end of June till August. Definitely worth a visit if you like the sound of being lost in a huge field of berries.
Park Road, Halstead CO9 2PX
Boating in Deadham
One of our favourite things to do is taking a boat out in deadham. You have fields on both sides with cows roaming around. There are also plenty of swimming spots and river walks.
Post code: CO7 6DH
Cost: £12 for half an hour or £20 for an hour of boating for up to 5 people
Wild Swimming
Plenty of wild swimming options available in the area.
If like us you prefer river swimming over the sea Suffolk is a great place for it.
Jump in and swim alongside ducks, morhen and if you’re lucky enough you might even spot a kingfisher.
Our favourite river spots are:
Bures CO8 5AA, The water is quite deep by the bridge and there are platforms to easily get in and out of the water. On friday evening there also parks a pizza van on the field opposite the pub.
Dedham CO7 6DH. Here you can walk along the river and there are spots to get in through the way. This is also where the boat hire is.
Our closest sea spots are:
Felixstowe beach IP11 2DE , 45 minutes away.
Country walks
Plenty of Beautiful walks through the woods, fields and over streams.
On leaving the back door of Corner Farmhouse you are just minutes away from breathtaking views over the fields, which you reach through a beautiful woodland walk.
Many of the paths have signposts pointing you in the direction of nearby Lavenham or if you prefer to just explore then keep on walking which ever way you please….you never know what you might stumble across.
If you’d like to make a day of it let us know and we’ll put together a lovely picnic for you.
