Emily wanted a blouse that didn’t need thinking about. Something simple enough to wear with anything, but with just enough detail, the collar, the gathered cuff, to not feel plain either.
Cotton is a natural, breathable fibre that holds up well to everyday wear. It’s low-maintenance, doesn’t need special handling, and gets softer the more it’s washed.

Gardener Trousers | Black Irish Linen

A loose, wide-leg trouser with a high, pleated waist. The front pleats double as belt loops, a small detail that took a lot of fitting to get right. Two side pockets and one back pocket. Made in Irish linen, sourced from Belfast. Breathable and hypoallergenic, it softens with every wash and wears in rather than out.Redwan wanted one trouser the shop could remake over and over: comfortable, modest, roomy enough to move in. The first attempt was a drop-crotch shalwar. It didn't catch on.
The real design came later, after Redwan met a gardener at the local Mosque wearing a pair of trousers he'd owned for thirty years, bought at a car-boot sale and never replaced. Redwan asked if he could copy them. The gardener agreed, on the condition Redwan make him a couple of new pairs in return.
A neighbour, a pattern cutter, took six months to draft it. From there, our tailor Kamali took over in his workshop in Bow, and has been making it ever since. We've made close to a thousand pairs in this cut.Our linen comes from Belfast. It's a breathable fabric, well suited to warm weather, and hypoallergenic, so it works for sensitive skin. A collarless jacket, unlined, cut to one shape. Button fastening down the front, two front pockets, a raglan sleeve for extra movement through the shoulder. Sits loose enough to wear on its own, close enough to layer under a coat. Made in herringbone cotton, a durable and breathable, natural fibre woven in a V-shaped diagonal pattern for extra texture, that's easy to care for and softens with wear.Redwan wanted a jacket he could put on without thinking. Something that worked over a shirt in the morning and under a coat by evening, that moved with him rather than against him, that never felt like it was waiting for a special occasion. A V-neck waistcoat, lined, with a button front and front pockets. This waistcoat is unique, made from offcuts of fabric from another project. This is a small, and there are no other sizes available. It is in wool, a warm, natural fibre that insulates well and resists creasing.Kamali has been our tailor for years, working out of his workshop in Bow. Every project leaves offcuts, and rather than throw them away, he kept them. Ten years' worth, as it turned out. One day he turned them all into waistcoats: about a hundred of them, in whatever fabric happened to be left over. Some good tweeds, some odd prints from old dress fabric. Each one exists once. When it's gone, that fabric is gone with it.Wool is a natural insulator, warm without being heavy, and naturally resists odour and creasing better than most fabrics.
